We’ll have more recipes soon, but for now, let’s get started with my favorite Ayurvedic drink. It is loaded with antioxidants and super good for us! What are the benefits? For starters, aids in healthy digestion, reduces inflammation, aids in heart function, reduces joint pain and…it’s a mood booster!
Golden Milk Paste
*Note - for ease of us, I’ve used tumeric and ginger powder in this recipe. Feel free to swap out fresh if you so desire. If using fresh, peel them and instead of mixing everything in a bowl, add all ingredients to a high powered blender and process until smooth.
4 Tbsp tumeric powder
2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground pepper (aids in the release of curcumin from the tumeric so don’t skip this)
pinch each of nutmeg and clove
2 Tbsp hot water
4 Tbsp Coconut
Mix all ingredients together until a paste forms. Store in a mason jar in the refrigerator for…a really long time.
Golden Milk
Add 1-2 tsp of Golden Milk Paste and a small amount of natural sweetener (if desired) to a cup or mug. Pour warm plant based milk over it and stir until dissolved. Enjoy!
Sometimes we need to feel rooted, grounded in nature, connected. When balancing the root chakra, there are certain foods that assist and this drink provides a lot of it in a delicious beverage.
6 carrots
2 beets
2 lemons
2 cucumbers
2 red peppers
2 sticks of celery
1 inch piece of ginger
1 garlic clove
Small bunch of parsley
Peel the veggies and remove any seeds, stems and membranes. All all ingredients to a juicer. Stir and enjoy! Grab a friend because this makes two servings and because friends can also help keep us grounded.
Cleanses the liver, kidneys and bowels.
