LJosie

Josie was dragged kicking and screaming to her fist yoga class in 2003.  AS a lifelong dancer, choreographer and teacher, she naively did not see any need for "more stretching" in her life.  Within her first hour of yoga practice, Josie knew that she had been bit by the yoga bug.  It combined flexibility, strength, strong mental focus and clarity of motion - all of the key elements that a dancer needs to build a successful dance career.

After 4 years of practicing herself, Josie nervously brought her love of yoga to her students beginning in 2007, as a form of conditioning at dance camps throughout the western United States.  The students were immediately receptive and enthusiastic.  Josie began her formal teacher training with Yogafit in 2009.  She completed her Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 trainings in Minnesota with Yogafit Master Trainer Katie Schuver.  Upon completing the trainings, she moved to Texas where she was hired to teach Vinyasa Yoga at Lifetime Fitness.  Josie completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with LifePower Yoga under National Director Jonny Kest and Regional Trainer Sheryl Braun.  Josie currently serves as an Ambassador for Lululemon Athletica at their store in The Woodlands, TX.  She is beyond grateful for the opportunity to foster community outreach and the honor of representing such an inspiring health and fitness focused company.

Shelly "J"

Shelly is a Yoga Alliance 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500).  She received her teaching certificate in 2010 from Houston Medical Center's Institute of Spirituality & Health.  Her passion for yoga began when she experienced the peacefulness of the mind, body and breath connection fostered in class.  Her appreciation for the improvement of her own well being, and the deep respect she developed for the healing art of the practice, turned her from student to teacher in four transformational years.

As an instructor, her objective is to tune you in to the soft signals of your own mind and body through focused awareness to breath and sustained muscle movement.  She primarily considers herself a guide, inviting you to consciously breathe as together you cultivate strength and flexibility while you joyfully unite to your internal body rhythms.

From Shelly:  "I wholeheartedly believe Yoga is practical medicine for the mind, body and soul, and will be a healing addition to anyone's life.  Yoga doesn't need to be achieved or attained, just explored and enjoyed."

Sapha

Falling in love with yoga was Sapha's destiny from the second she stepped onto her mat in 2007. From this moment on she began to study as much as she could about yoga, researching and reading endlessly. In this search for knowledge and growth, she realized her practice was more than just asana; it was a direct route to self-discovery and connectivity to every aspect of her self. It was at this point that Sapha began a deeper journey into the heart of yoga and the ability to open up to grace. Feeling joyous about having found the gift of yoga, Sapha feels deeply called to share this practice, and it's many lessons with others, and completed her 200-hour teacher certification with Lex Gillan at The Yoga Institute of Houston Texas in 2011 and has continued furthering her education over the last four years, finally completing her 500 RYT certification with Jennyyoga in Houston TX.

Sapha remains forever the seeker and the student of this practice and wants nothing more than to share the gift of yoga and all it's lessons with the world.

Randi

Randi's love for yoga started while pregnant with her second son.  Initially, the mental benefits drew her in, but seeing progress in her strength and balance kept her coming back to her mat day after day.  Randi quickly realized that her life calling was to share her joy of yoga with others.

Randi aims to help students deepen their personal yoga growth by becoming confident from the inside out.  Achieving a personal yoga practice is something she strives for with each student.  Her classes are a blend of longer holding postures and creative flows that link strength, balance and breath.

Off the mat, you will find her seeking adventure with her husband and two amazing kids.

Michelle

Michelle's journey to yoga began while trying to find a way to relieve chronic lower back pain.  She had been going to a chiropractor which she says was fantastic but she did not want to depend on getting adjusted for the rest of her life.  At the time, Michelle had a lot of preconceptions of what yoga was, but she had no idea how wonderful it could make her feel.  From the very first class, she was hooked.

Beyond the physical aspects, Michelle began to notice a more peaceful demeanor, she had more patience and felt a level of energy that was transforming.  The more she practiced, the more she wanted to learn all about yoga.  She says "It was challenging but I was eager to learn."

After more than a year of practicing, the opportunity to train to be an instructor was presented to her.  Strongly believing in taking opportunities when they come, she decided to do her training.  She trained in Michigan under Lifepower Yoga by Jhonny Kest, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga 200-hour RYT.  Michelle says "Yoga was a gift to me in my life and now I wanted to share it with others and help others into this yoga life."  She believes yoga is for everyone, that there is a perfect place for all and that it helps to cure yourself of so many of the stresses of life.  "It makes you be present and aware, be genuine and true.  Love yourself, be grateful and be accepting."

Michelle's mantra:  Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu  "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all."
